The situation turned tense after a clash between the Christian community and Nihang Singhs during a religious program near village Rajewal on the Bathinda National Highway. The Christian community blocked the Mananwala Tarn Taran road and started vandalizing vehicles. According to the information received from the spot, today the Christian community was propagating their religion in the Sukhpal Rana Ministry Church located near village Rajewal. Meanwhile, some Nihang Singhs came there and objected to the arrival of Sardars in the church and stopped the Sardars from going to the church. Due to which the dispute between the people of both the communities increased and Nihang Singh left from there when the number of people of the Christian community increased in the church. But the Nihang Singhs were attacked by the people of the Christian community. During this, each other's vehicles were vandalized by both the sides. After the departure of the Nihang Singhs, the people of the Christian community blocked the national highway and vandalized private vehicles. As soon as the information about the incident was received, a large number of police reached the spot and brought the situation under control. SSP Amritsar Rural also reached the spot. During the conversation SSP Amritsar Rural said that whoever is responsible for this incident will not be spared. The culprits will be dealt with very strictly. The SSP said that the situation is under control and traffic has been restored. Giving information in this regard, SHO of Chatiwind police station Ajaypal Singh Bath said that a complaint has been given by the people of Christian community that they were performing religious ceremony in their church. Nihang Singh came there and interrupted the ceremony. The police station chief said that legal action is being taken on the complaint of the Christian community. All other incidents will be probed and whoever is found guilty will not be spared, he said.
